Automatic weather report for TV Monaco

As part of the launch of the national channel TV Monaco, Luxiris was asked by the Dream On agency to implement the automated creation of an original weather programme, three times a day.

Embodied by the seagull Mona Coco, each bulletin is unique and generated a few minutes before broadcast using the Automate-IT platform supplied by Embrace.

The customer’s request

The Dream On agency designed a programme for TV Monaco that combines information and humour, embodied by an original character: the seagull Mona Coco.

Lasting around three minutes, the programme had to be repeated three times a day and incorporate the latest data available from Météo France.

In addition, the programme must be generated as automatically as possible to minimise the need for human intervention before broadcast.

Our solution

Luxiris provides TV Monaco with a turnkey programme, taking care of all the stages involved in the production and ‘ready to air’ delivery of weather reports.

The workflow is based on Embrace’s Automate-IT solution, which orchestrates the retrieval of data and the combination of audio and video elements created by Dream On, which make up the final programme. Control of the After Effects rendering engines is managed entirely by Automate-IT.

Thanks to the algorithms integrated into the workflow, each bulletin generated is unique, whether it’s the seagull’s path or its interventions.

Hosted in the cloud, the platform is supervised by the Luxiris support team to prevent any incident, and a back-up programme is produced daily for TV Monaco.

The results

TV Monaco benefits from a high-quality service thanks to the combined skills of Dream On, Embrace and Luxiris.

The solution implemented is flexible and scalable, allowing editorial, graphic or technical changes to be made throughout the life of the programme, without any additional manual intervention in the workflow.

For example, since the programme went live, it has been enhanced to include new contributions from Mona Coco, to offer an adapted look for the end-of-year festivities, and to provide a social networking version of the weather forecast.
